Service Description

We are crazy for crochet! This week we will break into two groups, one for older kids or kids who already know how to crochet, to enjoy a relaxing week crocheting in and out of the studio (who doesn't love to crochet under a tree at the park!). Younger kids will enjoy some fun and creative textile and fibre inspired projects, including simple weaving, puppet and stuffy making, and a puppet show to present to the older group and the end of the day. During this week, the older group will have the option to visit Parkensen Rec to swim once or twice if the group is interested, so please pack swim gear accordingly. For the crochet group, please bring one ball of yarn and a properly sized corresponding hook (noted on label of yarn). For beginners, we recommend googling "best and worst yarn for beginner crochet" and following that rather than allowing your child to choose, it really does make a huge difference! To join the crochet group, kids must either be in grades 3+ or already have some crochet experience and are very comfortable with chaining and ideally single or double crochet basics.
